The use of type C ultraviolet radiation (UVC) is the most effective and safest way to sterilize water. No chemical are involved, and there is no risk of dangerous overdosing. Long processing times are not required as sterilization is instantaneous.
Its highly concentrated energy exerts a lethal effect on living organisms. It alters their genetic material (DNA) and inhibits their reproduction capability. The germicidal properties of UVC radiation are therefore extremely beneficial in destroying bacteria, viruses, protozoa, algae, yeasts and mould spores.
RW UVC sterilizers are professional units with following technical features:
- UVC lamp - SLIM-T5 type with ceramic caps for a better electrical insulation. Rated life with electronic ballast: 9000 hours (calculated at 70% of the starting power after 100 hours of operation)
- Radiation intensity at suggested flow rates: 33000 µW/sec/cm2
- The body of the lamp is manufactured from pure quartz
- VITON washers
- Electronic ballast
- Pure quartz sleeve
- The body of the unit is manufactured from a special UVC resistant ABS, strengthened with Nylon and containing an additive, which has the capability to repel UVC rays.
RW UVC sterilizers are available in following models:
- RWUVC/10/500 - 10 watt - max water flow: 500 l/h - Radiation intensity: 33000 µW/sec/cm2
