RWPH pH Increasers

Lowering pH is one of the biggest problems that can occur in marine aquaria.
This problem mostly occurs in aquariums with only fishes, less often in Reef aquariums.
A too low pH level can seriously damage fishes and invertebrates.

RWPH pH Increasers contain a special natural material (Dolomite), which has a large capability to increase the pH value of the water.
RWPH pH Increasers are provided with a circulation pump and a check valve for creating a slow water flow: in fact a too fast a water flow does not make the most of the large capacity of the Dolomite.

RWPH pH Increasers can be regulated by a timer, however only the utilization of a pH controller can assure exact regulation of the pH value (it is necessary that the pH controller used can be set to both a high and low pH. See RW pH controller).

RWPH pH increasers can be placed both internally/externally to the sump and are available in 7 models:

  • RWPH/130/400 - Ø 130 mm - total height 42 cm - for aquariums up to 300 liters
  • RWPH/130/500 - Ø 130 mm - total height 52 cm - for aquariums up to 600 liters
  • RWPH/130/600 - Ø 130 mm - total height 62 cm - for aquariums up to 900 liters
  • RWPH/250/350 - Ø 250 mm - total height 41 cm - for aquariums up to 2500 liters - waterproof version*
  • RWPH/250/500 - Ø 250 mm - total height 57 cm - for aquariums up to 3500 liters - waterproof version*
  • RWPH/250/800 - Ø 250 mm - total height 87 cm - for aquariums up to 5000 liters - waterproof version*
  • RWPH/250/1000 - Ø 250 mm - total height 107cm - for aquariums up to 7000 liters - waterproof version*

* These filters don't necessarily require the presence of a sump and can be directly connected to the aquarium.

RW POST-CA – Waterproof pH increasers

The waterproof pH increasers RW POST-CA have been realized to increase the pH value in marine tanks by a special kind of Dolomite (PH-UP).

Life of PH-UP depends from the pH value of the water to be treated. It is suggested to regularly control the pH value at filter’s outlet after about 2 months from starting the filter.
In case the pH value at filter’s outlet is not increased in respect of tank’s value, PH-UP must be replaced.

The pH increaser filter POST-CA is available in 2 sizes:

  • RW POST-CA 10 – Ø 12 cm – H. 30,5 cm – for aquariums up to a   500 liters
  • RW POST-CA 20 – Ø 13 cm – H  57 cm  – for aquariums up to 1000 litri

Recommended water flow: 24-40 l/h for model 10 and 50-80 l/h for model 20.

The filter RW POST-CA can be used to get a stable pH value either in marine aquariums with only fishes (where a lowering of pH value is quite common) or in reef aquariums, to eliminate the imbalance which normally occurs between day and night.

In this case the filter can be used with the pump only and water flow must be regulated by the check valve, according to the pH value of the tank (Diagram 1).

For getting a fully automatic control of pH value in the tank, the filter must be connected to a pH controller which must be provided with HI/LO functions (Diagram 2).
